HOUSE SITTER NEEDED in Addison, AL from around June 1 through August 31. I have a two bedroom and two bath house on 20 acres in this small rural town. I have a car available – it’s about an hour drive to Huntsville or Birmingham. The house sitter has to love animals and be diligent in the care of two horses, two dogs, two cats and numerous birds – all outdoors – and a lot of garden but all on a water drip system. Come to northwestern Alaska and enjoy the beautiful mountain views, amazing history, and soak in the natural hot springs all summer long as the new [Contact info available to subscribers] caretaker. The caretaker will work to make sure Pilgrim is kept safe and clean, greet guests visiting the site, and help out with other onsite projects, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery here. You will be provided with housing – a small cabin with a wood stove, appliances (refrigerator and stove), and power on demand (generator or solar PV). A small shower house with on-demand water heater is also provided for the caretakers. Your main task will be to provide safety and security to the property. You will be responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and overall site maintenance. Must be comfortable in a remote setting, be able to respond to basic wildlife or first aid scenarios and be comfortable with adverse weather conditions and summertime bugs (mainly, mosquitoes!). NOW INTERVIEWING FOR A PERSON who would be able to spend the summer here (from May 15 until September 15) to manage a small 50 tree orchard on a large, very beautiful property near Homer. Lodging consists of an off-grid tiny house located at the orchard with fresh spring water nearby. We provide basic food staples, an ATV and/or a farm truck as needed. This is a physically demanding job of about 20 hours per week which includes mowing, weeding, trimming, moving trees, setting up a waterline, and fence repairs. Extra jobs are also available for an hourly wage for over 20 hours. We are looking for someone who loves nature, loves trees, and has an eye for beauty and neatness in the cabin and surrounding area. Arizona

FULL-TIME, YEAR ROUND COUPLE wanted for off-grid private property management. This is an amazing opportunity for a couple to share the experience of being off-grid in the mountains of Arizona, located 90 minutes outside of Phoenix. Combine your skill sets to work and develop this property which includes geodesic domes for growing, a large diverse orchard, and small animals (currently chickens, turkeys, and dogs) with the hope to branch out to bigger animals in the future. Your skills should include: being able to understand solar equipment to ensure it is working properly, experience growing food successfully, handling of large equipment to clear roads of snow, house management, including the cleaning of the primary’s house on the property, care of animals (specifically poultry and canines), working with a team of individuals to record videos that are educational for those interested in off-grid living, physical activity including lifting and carrying, and managing and organizing inventory lists. Knowledge of construction and project management are extra skills not required but would be greatly appreciated. ANIMAL AND RANCH CARETAKER needed. We are looking to add two people to our team. Apply as a couple or separately. Housing is provided. Neither job is a riding job so please keep that in mind. Position 1: The Animal Caretaker will be responsible mainly for the caring of dogs, parrots, and our household. We do have horses, cows, sheep, goats, alpacas, peacocks, and chickens. But this job focuses on the dogs and house birds. Involvement with the other animals is based on your skills and motivation. Experience milking cows is a plus. Position 2: Ranch caretaker. We are looking to hire someone to help with all the things needed to keep a ranch and homes maintained. We want a team player who sees something broken and takes care of it without someone micromanaging you. We have trucks, a skid loader, and tractors to maintain… and know how to operate.
